a few things abt nus i won’t forget ever

1. NUS-ISCF…got memories of bitterness, anger, kucings, embarrassing moments, yet also a bunch of good friends, joyful times, sharing, fellowship…

year 1: memories of sleepless nights during camp were still vivid in my brain lol ian and jetan know about this…all the headaches during sessions nyeh nyeh nyeh

year 2: bitterness in sem 2…yea but also learnt a lot from it…just got to know all those newcomers e.g. the infamous hartanto…

year 3: nothing special except for kucings, ya, that one I’ll remember forever

year 4: so many memories together…with Indra & Jo, mini outing di rumah Hartanto, ketawa2 tiap kali ketemu erlin, mimicking boybands together with pat, my birthday party during exams period, so on so forth…I hope the next camp will be memorable as well =D

2. Times spent with Shirleen, Grace, and Erlinda…i rlly2 miss those times of mugging together, sharing, listening to whatever songs we had in mind, dancing (only me and shirleen, eh? hahaha), singing, mimicking 98 degrees (only me and shirleen again hahaha again) 

3. Times spent with Applied Chem friends, at the applied chem lab (seminggu 2×7 jam), at the classes (seminggu 2×6 jam), the chalet!! the outing to that lousy Indo restaurant at CQ, the times at pasir panjang Korean BBQ restaurant…friend like Mingxian, who can forget? It’s true that some friends are more interesting than others. The UV-Vis spectrophotometer, GC, HPLC, organic lab, polymerization lab, particle sizer, tungsten, heat exchanger, bioreactor, Mdm Toh…the one and only night gak tidur ngerjain 2 lab reports organic chem, followed by photoshop-ing cm3242 poster with Huifang and Kaiwi the whole morning-afternoon…all still remembered vividly in my head…

4. Time at S5-01-01, eng ing eng…that dark gloomy place in the corner of science faculty…ah no, the place with the lights always on for nightshift workers…Mentor like GB, who can forget? The rotavap, the columns, the rbfs, adaptors, extracting funnel, conical flasks, high vacuum, nmr tubes (loh kok…)…group meetings, who can forget all those?

some points that I have realized after doing this FYP

1. there is a very thin wall between humble caution and unbelieving worry/fear. of course we should always try to develop the first.
2. patience is the key…as quoted from Balaji who always says this to me. without patience and wisdom, thorough thinking and proper planning, your research will just go down the drain…
3. when you work with the correct frame of mind, a sober mind, not boggled down by impatience, anger, false joys, or downcastedness, that is the time when you should work for the longest time.
4. pride always comes before the fall…what i mean here is failure…
5. don’t take success for granted…it all comes by God’s grace and mercy.
6. and of course, last but not least, it’s always easier to be thankful to God in times of blessings…but not on times of failure and dissapointments and heartbreaks…only after you’re ready to move on from them you can see that where you are at now is a much better spot than the past…you’ve learnt from mistakes etc…
